The NYAH and Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Inis 2017 have come together to organise a special event to remember the legendary accordion player and composer, Finbarr Dwyer.
At 3pm on Monday the 21st of August there will be a star-studded Concert with over 25 Accordion performers taking to the stage in Treacy's West County Hotel. This will be a fitting tribute the much-loved traditional Irish accordion player whose compositions and reworking of familiar tunes have been a source of delight and fascination for players and audiences alike over the years.
In honouring Finbarr Dwyer's music we also remember his recordings which gave us a new and different perspective on the playing Irish traditional music, with his innovative and personal approach to the art of variations producing a unique, stand-alone sound.
