In recent decades, more and more people across the globe have come to and appreciate, enjoy and participate in our Traditional Irish Music, Songs and Dances. With 420 branches in 15 countries on 4 Continents, Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann has been to the fore not only in the preservation of our Traditional Arts and the Irish Language at home but in its promotion and development across the world.
The Overseas Reception and Concert, recognises the contribution of the men and women in and from foreign lands in the preservation and promotion of our Traditional Arts. With overseas co-ordinators, Luton-based, Jim Teevan, together with Patrick Morrison, development officer with Comhaltas in Britain and Tom Vesey from New York (Chairperson of Comhaltas, North America), the Overseas Reception and free Concert provide a céad míle fáilte to the many people from outside Ireland who will come to Ennis on Saturday the 19th August in Hotel Woodstock.
