Green Fleadh

Green Fleadh

Going green to protect the environment was a very important part of running Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016 and this greening will also be an integral part of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2017. A Green Fleadh makes it easy to reduce and segregate waste, minimise water and energy use and reduce carbon emissions. It helps visitors to Ennis take the necessary steps to protect and improve our environment.

Volunteer for the Green Fleadh 2017

Green Fleadh volunteers act as a gentle reminder to people to keep County Clare and Ennis green and litter free.

Volunteers can help through…..

  • Environmental education and awareness roles
  • Picking and bringing litter to recycling stations for segregation

Fleadh Carbon Footprint

Measures to reduce or offset the carbon footprint have been identified for Fleadh 2017. One of these measures is to encourage visitors to avail of public transport to travel to the Fleadh and to walk, cycle or make use of the shuttle bus service that will be in place between venues, competitions and park and stride / ride locations on the outskirts of Ennis.
